in every season

the "seasons of life". what does that actually mean? i've probably heard it used a thousands times but not until recently have i really been able to understand what it means. pretty much this is what i've come down to: just like the earthly seasons, winter, fall, summer, spring, we go through the same kinds of seasons in our lives. sometimes we find ourselves in a really happy and joyful state of mind, environment, situation, and other times, to be frank, everything just sucks. within those two extremes, of course, there are mid tones and mid lines but you get the idea.

i don't know which season i'd say i'm in right now. a part of me is extremely thankful, happy, and grateful for both my church and school friends (and i can honestly say that i wouldn't be the person i am now without them) and the other part of me just kind of feels hopeless, examining everything around me in retrospect.

a wintery-fall-ish season? hahah i'm not too sure because winter and fall both have their perks and negatives. how can i describe it. it's almost like the past is creeping up on me and i'm getting pummeled by the same struggles and disappointments. honestly, i'm just getting tired of it and i'm slowly getting worn down. the only question i have right now is, when is this going to end for good?

despite all of the seasonal changes in my life, i can't complain and say that i'm unhappy because i'm not! i learned something really important, perhaps even extremely obvious. if you're happy, then be happy. i know it sounds dumb and so obvious that you're probably wondering, wth.. but when i think about it, there have been so many times when i've detained my happiness because of an environment or condition i'm in or my friends are in. in that process, i've suppressed the happiness that i've been blessed with, how foolish! seriously guys, if you're happy, just be happy!

smile, laugh, and be thankful in every season.
