facebook fast

our church was challenged today to fast something that consumes much of our time or is of great value to us in order to spend more time with God and come together as one congregation out to do a task. immediately, i thought of facebook, which is kind of sad that it does in fact consume much of my life. as handy as facebook is for networking and connecting, the majority of time spent on facebook is a waste. instead of doing other things that are of greater value to us, we sit in front of our laptops and computers and waste away all of our time on facebook looking through pictures of people we don't even know. i realized that facebook consumes SO much of my time that i don't even "have time" to spend with the One i love. so for the next 21 days, no more facebook! and i'm excited to see what God has in store for the next 21 days in the time i spend with Him. i hope lots of people decide to take on the challenge, because hey, we're doing this together.
